Something Borrowed
A few minutes before walking down the aisle, my bridesmaids and I were talking about the wedding rhyme "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". My friend handed me a ring pulled off her pinky.
"It can be your 'borrowed'," she said.
Not one to turn down luck, I took it.
After the ceremony, I walked up to her and handed the ring back.
"No, no. You keep it. I want you to have it," she said.
It's a special, little Catbird ring called "Dewdrop" (coincidentally perfect for the "I do" moment!) with a small, round, recycled diamond and a freshwater pearl nestled together and set in 14k gold.
I like to think of it as a future heirloom.
