New Chains + Old Stones
One jewelry microcosm that I love but rarely see much of is that of taking old stones and remaking them into contemporary, everyday jewelry.
There's something special about old diamonds. Combining a sparkly mine cut diamond with a turquoise beaded chain or adding a rose cut diamond in its original silver collect to a simple gold chain represent the best of new and old jewelry worlds to me.
Necklaces shown above: The first is a small, elongated old mine cut diamond set on a 14k gold chain. The second is a round 0.68ct old mine cut set on a rainbow beaded 14k chain. Both show up as a fiery flash of sparkle when worn and hail from The One I Love.
Time period: new chains, old stones.
