Better Lucky Than Smart
Luck is a funny thing. Some people believe luck is no more than a reflection of pre-destiny while others believe luck can be made at a moment's notice. Either way, I'm a firm believer in luck.
Our family's motto has always been "better lucky than smart". As I've lived, I've loved this saying even more as I've realized it removes the ego from taking credit in fortuitous situations.
When I saw this wonderfully chunky band from Jewels Antiqua, I knew I had to have it. It was cast in 1979 solid 9k yellow gold, with a happy width a bit out of favor with these dainty jewelry times, and inscribed with "LUCKY" no less.
I like how the 6.5mm width and aged patina stand up nicely to other jeweled rings.
Time period: vintage item from 1979.
